Our guides will decide which to use based on the air and water temperature of the day. Generally, we use drysuits, which keep your body dry, during cooler seasons like spring and autumn. In the warmer summer months, we use wetsuits, which are easier to move in.

About Rafting

About Participation

Can I enjoy rafting even if it's my first time?
Yes, absolutely! Most of our guests are first-time rafters. Our experienced guides will give you thorough instructions and will be in the same boat to guide you, so you can participate with confidence.
Can I participate if I'm not a strong swimmer?
Yes, that's no problem at all. All participants must wear a high-buoyancy life jacket. Even if you fall into the river, the life jacket will keep you afloat, so you can rest assured.
I'm not very athletic, is that okay?
Don't worry. Rafting is not a sport that requires strenuous exercise. The paddling is a team effort, so the burden on any one person is small. In calm sections of the river, there is also time to enjoy the scenery and swim.
Are there age restrictions for children?
Yes, the age requirements differ depending on the tour course. The " Family Rafting " and " Chubetsu River Rafting " tours are available for children from 4 years old. Please check the details page for each tour for age requirements.
Isn't rafting dangerous?
While all outdoor activities have inherent risks, we take thorough safety measures to minimize them. We operate our tours with safety as the top priority, including accompaniment by experienced guides, use of high-quality safety equipment, detailed safety briefings before the tour, and making operational decisions based on the river conditions of the day.

About the Tour

How many people can ride in a rafting boat?
The standard is 7 guests and 1 guide, for a total of 8 people. Depending on the number of participants, you may share the boat with other groups.
Is there time to jump in the river and swim?
Yes, in calm and safe sections of the river, we have time for you to get in the water with your life jacket on to swim or just float along.
Is jumping from rocks mandatory?
No, it is not mandatory. Some tours have spots where you can enjoy jumping from rocks, but it is completely up to you whether you want to try. If you are not comfortable, you do not have to participate, so please don't worry.
Is it possible to fall out of the boat?
When going through intense rapids, it is possible to lose your balance and fall into the river. However, we practice how to handle such situations beforehand, and our guides will rescue you immediately, so please don't worry. Many people find it a thrilling and enjoyable part of the experience.
Is it possible for the boat to capsize (flip over)?
It is extremely rare for a boat to capsize on a regular tour. We constantly check the river conditions and will cancel or change the course if there is a risk of capsizing due to dangerous water levels.

Other

How should I choose a rafting course?
You can choose based on who you are with and what kind of experience you want. For families with small children, we recommend " Family Rafting ". For first-timers or those who want a casual experience, " Sorachi River Rafting " is a good choice. If you are looking for a more thrilling experience, we suggest " Mukawa River Rafting ". Please refer to the details page for each tour.

About Canyoning

About Participation

I've never done canyoning before, is that okay?
Yes, of course! Many of our participants are trying canyoning for the first time. Before the tour, our guides will carefully explain how to slide and walk safely, so anyone can participate with confidence.
Can I participate if I'm not a good swimmer?
Yes, you can. You will be required to wear a life jacket, so your body will float naturally even if you are not a strong swimmer. In deep areas, our guides will provide full support, so please don't worry.
How much physical fitness is required?
No special level of fitness is required. Some courses may involve walking a bit of a distance or climbing over rocks, but the courses are designed so that anyone in good health can enjoy them. Please participate at your own pace.
I'm afraid of heights, can I still enjoy it?
Yes, you can. Jumps into waterfall pools are all optional. Our guides will show you a safe detour, so you don't have to jump if you don't want to. Please enjoy the tour by valuing your own desire to "give it a try."
Are there age restrictions for children?
Yes, there are. " Tonashibetsu Canyoning " is for elementary school students and older, while " Wild Canyoning " is for junior high school students and older. Please check the respective tour pages for details.

About the Tour

Are jumping into waterfall pools and going down waterslides mandatory?
No, they are not mandatory. All jumps and slides are optional. If you don't want to try, our guides will show you a safe detour, so please don't worry.
Is the water cold?
The water in Hokkaido's streams is cool even in summer, but you will wear a thick, highly insulating wetsuit during the tour, so you will hardly feel the cold. In fact, it should feel pleasant on your active body.
What is the difference between canyoning and shower climbing?
While shower climbing involves "climbing up a stream (ascending)," canyoning is an activity where you "go down a stream." Because you are descending, you can enjoy more dynamic water play, such as sliding down natural waterslides and jumping into waterfall pools.

About Safety

Isn't canyoning a dangerous activity?
While there are inherent risks in any activity in untouched nature, we take thorough safety measures to minimize them. An experienced guide will always accompany you, make appropriate decisions based on weather and water levels, and ensure your safety with comprehensive safety equipment.
What kind of safety equipment is used?
You will be required to wear a special wetsuit to protect your body and provide insulation, a life jacket for buoyancy, a helmet to protect your head, and special non-slip shoes. All of this equipment is included in the tour fee.

About SUP

About Participation

I'm new to SUP, is it easy?
Yes, it's no problem at all for beginners. The boards we use are wide and very stable, so you can enjoy it with confidence. Before the tour, our guides will give you a thorough lesson on everything from how to use the paddle to how to get on the board.
I don't have good balance, is that okay?
Don't worry. You can start by paddling while sitting or kneeling, and then try standing up at your own pace when you get used to it. You can fully enjoy exploring the lake even while seated.
Can I participate if I can't swim?
Yes, you can. You will be required to wear a life jacket for safety, so your body will float naturally even if you fall in the water. Our guides will be nearby to support you, so please don't worry.
Can people who are not very athletic participate?
Yes, you can. SUP is an activity you can enjoy at your own pace, so no strenuous exercise is required. Even if you are not confident in your physical fitness, you can casually enjoy a walk on the water. If you get tired, you can sit or lie down on the board to rest.

About the Tour

Is it possible to fall off the board? What happens if I do?
You might lose your balance and fall in while you're getting used to standing, but that's part of the fun of SUP. It's safe because you're wearing a life jacket, and a leash connects you to the board so it won't float away. Our guides will teach you an easy way to get back on.
Do I have to stand the whole time?
No, not at all. You can enjoy it in any style you like: standing, kneeling, sitting cross-legged, or even lying down on the board and looking at the sky.
What should I wear? Will I get wet?
We recommend a swimsuit or a synthetic T-shirt and shorts that can get wet. Your feet will be in the water, so please wear footwear that can get wet. Even if you don't fall in, water may drip from the paddle or you may get wet when getting on and off the board. On days with low air or water temperatures, we will provide a wetsuit.

Other

What's the difference between the Lake Nokanan and Lake Kanayama courses?

Do you still run tours on windy days?
If strong winds or bad weather are expected that would make it unsafe to conduct the tour, we may cancel or reschedule. We prioritize your safety and will contact you promptly if the tour is cancelled.

I don't have any fishing gear, is that okay?
Yes, you can come empty-handed. The tour fee includes a complete set of smelt fishing equipment, including a fishing rod, tackle, bait, chair, and tent.
Is it cold inside the tent? What should I wear?

Can we eat the smelt we catch on the spot?
Yes, that's the highlight of the tour! Our guide will fry the smelt you catch into tempura on the spot. The taste of fresh, self-caught smelt is exceptional.

The Sapporo (Barato River) tour is operated by Flying Dolphins, while the Furano (Lake Kanayama) tour is run by our winter-specialty brand, "White Koala." The Sapporo tour, which you can find here , is attractive for its easy access from the city. The Furano tour is characterized by the experience of being surrounded by magnificent nature.

What is included in a rental set?
The [Ski Set] includes three items: "skis, boots, and poles." The [Snowboard Set] includes two items: "board and boots."

Please don't worry. We will prepare equipment that fits you based on the height and shoe size you provide when booking. If the size doesn't fit, we can exchange it if we have stock available.
Can you tell me more about the rental delivery service?
We offer a convenient delivery service that brings your rental items to your specified location, such as your accommodation in Furano city. At that time, please allow 15-20 minutes for us to fit your boots and select the best equipment for you.
It says the models are from the "previous season," is the quality okay?
Yes, please rest assured. Although the models are from the previous season, our expert staff constantly maintains them and manages their quality to ensure they are safe to use. This allows us to offer them at a reasonable price.

About Snowshoeing

I've never used snowshoes before, is it difficult to walk?
No, it's very easy. Snowshoes are like Western-style "kanjiki" (snowshoes), and no special skills are required. Our guides will teach you the knack of walking, and you'll soon be able to experience the joy of walking on fluffy snow.
What kind of clothes and shoes should I wear?
Please wear waterproof and warm clothing like ski wear, and footwear that prevents snow from getting in, such as snow boots or warm trekking shoes.
